MetroParks & Great Miami Rowing Center Learn to Row

Give rowing a try! Seasoned rowers and coaches will give you the opportunity to learn to row racing shells. Knowledgeable staff will answer your questions as you try out the equipment. What to wear: gym shorts & t-shirts that aren't too baggy, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, shoes that will not come off your feet. Bring water and socks. Recommended for ages 12 & up. Participation waiver must be signed. Learn to Row dates are 7/1, 7/29 & 10/1 at VOA and 6/3, 8/19 & 9/10 at Great Miami Rowing Center Hamilton.

Horse Daze

Lasso up some fun at this year's Horse Daze! Come out to enjoy horse rides, tractor drawn hayrides, horse photo opportunities, demonstrations, games & activities!

Great Outdoor Weekend- Stepping Forward Service Day

It's Great Outdoor Weekend! Let's explore the woods, meadows, ponds and creeks looking for evidence of critters. You can bring a magnifying glass, track field guide and a journal if you have them. Weather won't stop us unless there is lightning.

Elk Creek MetroPark Restoration Preview

Portions of the Meadow Ridge Area of Elk Creek MetroPark will be open to the public on Saturday, October 14th, and Sunday, October 15th, to view and learn more about the restoration work that has been occurring on the land. This work began when grants were obtained from the Land and Water Conservation Fund and The Ohio Department of Natural Resource Clean Ohio Green Space Conservation Fund to purchase the 456-acre parcel from the Trust for Public Land in November 2016.

There will be opportunities to learn more about how this space will be used for future passive recreation use by park customer/owners. There will also be the chance to see first-hand examples of the projects currently underway to return the land to its natural state. There will be two options to view the property. One option will offer a ride around portions of the property. The second option is to walk in marked designated areas. Park Customer/Owners can take advantage of both if desired, time permitting.
