Wellness Wanderers Challenge

MetroParks of Butler County and Cincinnati Children’s are challenging you to wander & explore the outdoors. Take a hike on the Great Miami River Trail and the Cascades trail at Reigart Road Area of Rentschler Forest MetroPark. Be on the lookout for ten QR codes, five on each trail. Scan each one to discover the activity for the challenge, complete it and move on to find the next code on the trail.

Complete the challenges and report your activities using the link below for the chance to receive bike swag, and maybe even one of several brand new bikes! Open to kids ages 13 & under, although parents and "kids" of all ages are encouraged to take part in the challenges! Ends June 30, 2021.

Creeking in the Parks - Rentschler Forest MetroPark - Reigart Road Area

Join MetroParks and partner, Butler Soil and Water Conservation District, every Thursday this summer from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. as we explore the creeks and waterways in the parks! The program will be held at a different park each week, so there are always new areas to explore! We will be looking for critters like: macroinvertebrates, fossils, fish, reptiles, and amphibians.

This week at Rentschler Forest MetroPark – Reigart Road Area, we will explore a direct creek tributary of the Great Miami River and all the creatures that call it home.

We will meet at the Riverview Shelter. Closed-toed shoes are required for all creeking events.

FREE and open to all ages! Registration is requested so we know you are coming! Walk-ins are also welcome.

Show and Tell on the Farm - Fabulous Fathers on the Farm

Dad, Father, Papa, Uncle, Friend...celebrate our fabulous fathers and father-figures through hands-on activities, craft and nature dads.

Yoga in the Park

Yoga in the Park is a safe, accessible and traditional yoga class on the banks of the Great Miami River. Yoga improves strength, balance and flexibility and helps to manage stress and anxiety levels. Yoga also offers relaxation, ways to better manage stress and the wonderful support of a warm and welcoming community! Practicing yoga outside in nature has proven to lower heart rate/blood pressure and even boost immunity! Please join Laura LeJeune, 500hr ERYT for this all levels, all bodies yoga class. Please bring your own mat.

Online registration is required by 5:00 p.m. on the date of the program.

Family Fun Fridays - Got Energy?

It's time for Family Fun Fridays! Join MetroParks of Butler County with partners Butler Soil and Water Conservation District and Ohio State University Extension for some summer fun!

This week's theme is "Got Energy?". Learn where energy comes from and how it travels throughout the food chain. Interactive games means there's lot of fun to be had!

This is a FREE program, open to all ages!

What are our five senses and how do they compare to animals senses? Take a hike and explore our surrounding environment utilizing our senses.

Summer Orienteering Adventure

Open to all skill levels! Summer Orienteering Adventure, in partnership with Orienteering of Cincinnati, will include several short courses of beginner to advanced difficulty.

Starts are open from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Hump Day Concert - Michelle Robinson Band

Need a little mid-week relaxation? Then, come on out to Voice of America MetroPark for live music and some good family fun!

**New Concert Location - Voice of America MetroPark Athletic Complex** The area near the UC Health Field House provides plenty of space to spread out. Bring your own chairs and/or blankets. Food and beverages may be brought in. No alcohol permitted.

Michelle Robinson Band is a country band based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. Everyone in the band brings a unique style and twist to the music that is performed. Every now and then you will hear a mix of pop/rock and other genres thrown in to fill the sound that is… the Michelle Robinson Band. Michelle Robinson has been singing her entire life. A preacher’s daughter, she was fortunate enough to hone her skills singing her heart out in church. With that experience she picked up the guitar, bass, and can keep a nice beat on the drums!

This week at Forest Run MetroPark – Wildlife Preserve Area, we will explore the Little Dry Run, a watershed of Indian Creek, and ultimately the Great Miami River, which flows into the Ohio River!

Closed-toed shoes are required for all creeking events.
