Title: Climate Change: How a Pesky Little Molecule Can Change the Earth as We Know It
Description: Friends of Chrisholm, partner of MetroParks, will host a Lunch and Learn program on “Climate Change: How a Pesky Little Molecule Can Change the Earth As We Know It” presented by Eric Burgess. The talk, oriented to a general audience, will cover a brief history of the Earth’s climate including the greenhouse effect and eventual origin of the world’s coal, oil and natural gas supplies. It will highlight how, in current times, humans use of these hydrocarbons is changing our climate in ways detrimental to our future. Eric will address many of the misconceptions about climate change, highlight some mitigation options, and will close with some brief comments on public policy.

Eric was born and grew up in Greenwood, Indiana. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Wabash College with a degree in physics. In the early 1990’s, he served in the US Peace Corps for two years teaching science and English in Malawi, Africa. He has lived in Ohio since 1995 and owns a Microscope business. He lives in Seven Mile with his wife Lara Askill and daughter Alida.

Feel free to bring your own lunch. Friends of Chrisholm will supply refreshments.
