MetroParks Daily Fishing Permits- 2023

This is to purchase a Daily Fishing Pass only. The lake at Voice of America is stocked annually and ready for fishing. MetroParks Fishing Passes are only needed at the Voice of America lake. A State of Ohio fishing license is required to fish at all other locations. If you are interested in purchasing an annual Fishing Pass, please visit the Voice of America Welcome Center during business hours.

Run the Parks 5K- October

Walk, hike, or run with us this year while we explore a different MetroPark in Butler County each month. This family-friendly, non-competitive 5k series will take place on the first Saturday of every month.

Ears are for Reading - 027

Take advantage of this great opportunity to read to a farm animal in a stress-free, non-judgmental environment. Bring your book of choice or choose one from our farm library. After sharing your story with the animals, spend time getting to know your new feathered or furry animal friend, too. Snacks provided.


Registration is required by 10/6/2023 by calling 513-867-5835. Half-hour reading time slots are available at 12pm, 12:30pm, 1pm, 1:30pm, 2pm and 2:30pm. Additional time slots may be added as these fill up!

Discovery on the Farm - Scarecrows and Candy Corn - 027

Why do farmers put scarecrows in fields? Ever wonder what we grow on the farm that is in candy corn? Find out these answers and build your very own scarecrow to take home for decoration. Fun activities, snack and live animal demonstrations included in program.

Make and Take for Pie Making Workshop - 027

This hands-on program, led by Friends of Chrisholm's very own Mrs. Carmon Hacker, is dedicated to beginning pie makers and will feature a demonstration of how to make a "Pat-a-Pan" pie crust, followed by each participant making his or her own to take home. The program will further show how to make the filling for Buttermilk Pie, a simple, but delicious, traditional Amish pie.
All participants should bring a 9-inch pie pan to the program, preferably glass.
Cost of the program is $5 per participant.

Calling All Homeschoolers! Pioneers - 002

Homeschoolers and their families are invited out to the Governor Bebb Pioneer Village for a chance to experience life in the early 1800s. Dip candles, cook a meal, and go to school like the settlers did.

Program includes a 30 minute lunch break around 12:30 pm.

Note the charge for ages 4+ applies to adults as well.

Discovery on the Farm - Pumpkin Hunt - 027

Pumpkin hunting, bowling, decorating and eating are some of the fun activities during this program.
Take home a pumpkin, enjoy a snack and share pumpkins with the farm animals too.

Fee is $5 per family.

Trail of Treats Orienteering

Trail of Treats is a short, easy orienteering course for kids, with a choice of candy or a toy at the finish. The course will be under a mile on park trails, will have several checkpoints to find along the way, and could have some mildly spooky surprises along the way.

Other, more challenging courses will be offered for older children and adults. You are welcome to do multiple courses for a single entry fee.

Registration is not required.
