This is to purchase a Daily Fishing Permit only. The Voice of America Lake is stocked annually in the spring. MetroParks fishing permits are only required to fish at VOA Lake. A State of Ohio fishing license is required to fish at all other park locations. If you are interested in purchasing an annual fishing permit, please visit the Voice of America Welcome Center during business hours. Children 5 years and younger can fish for free.
Little learners and their caregivers will discover nature and science topics together through hands-on experiences and outdoor time. You and your little learner are sure to have a wonderful time.
January 14 - It's All in the Snow
How do snowflakes, icicles and winter weather affect what we do on the farm? Be prepared to make your own snow, ice experiments and other fun activities along with visit the farm animals.
January 21 - Winter is for the Birds
Come on down to the farm and learn about how birds survive the winter through fun hands-on activities and crafts. Help us make presents for our winter birds at the park and in your back yard, too.
January 28 - Nappers, Snackers and Movers
Let's explore how animals survive the winter months by hibernating, migrating or tolerating through activities and a live animal demonstration.

Join us for the 2nd annual MetroParks of Butler County Winter Hike Series! This weekly hiking event will highlight the beauty of Butler County in winter by exploring a different park each week. This week's hike will take place at Meadow Ridge MetroPark. These guided hikes will average about 3 miles and end with a hot beverage and a bowl of soup. Vegetarian option available. $10/person/hike, children under 5 free

Did you know that before refrigeration, ice farming was very important for Butler County? Meet a first-person character from the 1800's who will share stories about collecting ice from local ponds and learn how refrigeration changed this type of farming. Join in the fun ice games and activities.

Experience Nature in a Blink, a year-long series in which MetroParks offers opportunities throughout the year to appreciate fleeting natural occurrences.
The moment the ground begins to thaw, the salamanders of Indian Creek are ready to go! Join us during this one night, special evening program to observe migration from forest to vernal pools where the salamanders can safely lay their eggs. Space is limited, so pre-registration is required.
Once the migration has been confirmed, pre-registered participants will be notified the night before or morning of the program and have until 2:00pm that day to confirm registration. All spaces not claimed by 2:00pm will be offered to those on the waiting list.
Join us as we explore Harbin Park at night in search of owls. We'll learn about the adaptations that make owls such amazing hunters, before venturing out on the trails to try to find them.
