This is to purchase a Daily Fishing Pass only. The lake at Voice of America is stocked annually and ready for fishing. MetroParks Fishing Passes are only needed at the Voice of America lake. A State of Ohio fishing license is required to fish at all other locations. If you are interested in purchasing an annual Fishing Pass, please visit the Voice of America Welcome Center during business hours. Children 5 years and younger can fish for free.
Let's talk about how animals prepare for and survive winter. Meet some of MetroParks' program animals while we discuss who sleeps, who leaves town, and who adapts to frosty winter conditions.

Did you know that Butler County was once home to a thriving 19th-century Amish community? Jeff Lehman, President of Friends of Chrisholm and a descendant of four of the community's families will talk about the origins of the Amish Mennonites in Butler County and their connection to the Chrisholm MetroPark Historic Farmstead. Learn about the community's growth, internal conflict and the eventual loss of its Amish affiliation. The historic Augspurger House will be open for tours following the talk.

Join MetroParks for a unique opportunity to visit a park at night during a full moon. Experience the nocturnal sights and sounds of Salamander Run MetroParks' prairies and forest. The hike will take place on uneven ground and primitive trails with limited light.

Join us for an agriculture educational program designed to give you a farming foundation you can build upon. During this hands-on program, we'll discuss turkey's different breeds, life cycle, husbandry practices, nutrition and their agricultural significance.
Children 8 years and up. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required by November 15.
Have you ever wanted to make your own dry soup mix but weren't sure about the ingredients and how to safely store it until time to cook? This fun, stress-free class is for you. Join us to learn about basic soup recipes and make a dry soup in a jar to take home.
Ages 13 and up--Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by adult.
Registration required by November 21.
$10/person fee covers class instruction, all ingredients to make soup in a jar to take home and recipes.

How are wreaths used during different holidays? Everyone will find their artistic ability to decorate a wreath to take home. Enjoy making one to share with the farm animals, too.
December 10 - Soap
Do you know how soap was made in the 1800's? Let's make our own fun, safe soap bars to take home and share with friends and family.
December 17 - Tea Party
Do you know how to prepare, serve and drink tea? We are going to make our own tea bags and celebrate with a tea party inside the beautiful Augspurger House.
Little learners and their caregivers will discover nature and science topics together through hands-on experiences and outdoor time. You and your little learner are sure to have a wonderful time.

How do you identify trees without their leaves? Use clues such as bark, branching, and buds to learn how to identify common trees during winter. Please dress for the weather.

Adventure with a map! Participants get a detailed map to locate a series of control points shown on the map. Suitable for all ages, you may complete for the fastest time, or enjoy a leisurely hike using a map to explore the park. Each event offers six different courses of varying difficulty and length-there is one suitable for every adventurer. Free map and compass for beginners.
