Description:
Celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence by honoring two Revolutionary War patriots laid to rest at Indian Creek Pioneer Church. The church and its adjacent cemetery, Butler County's first public burial ground, were founded in the early 1800's.
Historian Brad Spurlock of the Smith Library of Regional History will explore the connection between national and local history through the lives and military service of Heman Adams and Thomas Boone, a cousin of Daniel Boone.
The program will include the planting of an Ohio Heritage Tree, followed by light refreshments. For more information call (513) 867-5835.
