Creeking in the Parks - Rentschler Forest MetroPark - Reigart Road Area

Join us every Thursday this summer from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. as we explore the creeks and waterways in the parks! The program will be held at a different park each week, so there are always new areas to explore! We will be looking for critters like: macroinvertebrates, fossils, fish, reptiles, and amphibians.

This week at Rentschler Forest MetroPark – Reigart Road Area, we will explore a direct creek tributary of the Great Miami River and all the creatures that call it home.

We will meet at the Riverview Shelter. Closed-toed shoes are required for all creeking events.

FREE and open to all ages! Registration is requested so we know you are coming! Walk-ins are also welcome.

This week at Forest Run MetroPark – Wildlife Preserve Area, we will explore the Little Dry Run, a watershed of Indian Creek, and ultimately the Great Miami River, which flows into the Ohio River!

Creeking in the Parks - Pond Study: Gilmore MetroPark - Gilmore Road Area

Creeking in the Parks is back again! Join us every Thursday this summer from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. as we explore the creeks and waterways in the parks. This program will be held at a different park each week, so there are always new areas to explore! We will be looking for critters such as: macroinvertebrates, fossils, fish, reptiles, and amphibians.

This week is a Pond Study! At Gilmore MetroPark, we will explore the ponds and wetlands, and discover what animals live in these habitats!

The Gilmore Road entrance is located at: 7950 Gilmore Road, Hamilton OH 45015. Closed-toed shoes are required for all creeking events.

The program will be held at a different park each week, so there are always new areas to explore! We will be looking for critters like: macroinvertebrates, fossils, fish, reptiles, and amphibians.

This week at Indian Creek MetroPark, Oxford-Reily Road Area, we will explore the Indian Creek – another watershed of the Great Miami River. This is a very healthy creek that offers a great amount of biodiversity!

Closed-toed shoes are required for all creeking events.

Photo Walks: Composing a Great Photograph

Search for good photo opportunities in the fields, meadows and around the ponds at the Meadow Ridge Area of Elk Creek MetroPark. Photographer Susan Milinkovich will share some tips on composition to help you frame your photos. Bring your iPhone, Point-and-shoot or DSLR camera - no photography experience needed.
