This is to purchase a Daily Fishing Permit only. The Voice of America Lake is stocked annually in the spring. MetroParks fishing permits are only required to fish at VOA Lake. A State of Ohio fishing license is required to fish at all other park locations. If you are interested in purchasing an annual fishing permit, please visit the Voice of America Welcome Center during business hours. Children 5 years and younger can fish for free.
Ice Fishing is NOT Permitted.
Kick off National Bike to Work Day with a fun community ride, beginning at 6:30 am and light breakfast bites for riders between 7:00 and 9:00 am. Spoken Bicycles will be on hand to fix loose chains, pump up tires, and help get your bike ready to roll!
Spring is in full swing, and it's a fantastic time for birding in Butler County, with many migrating species you may not see any other time of year! Novices and experts alike hike with us to see who's passing through your parks. Binoculars are available for use during this hike.

Join the Pioneer Church Restoration Committee for the annual Salute to Pioneers! Brad Kramer, a registered surveyor and Director of Land Management in Preble County, will share how the first wave of settlers in western Butler County created plat maps and detailed field notes to serve as an inventory to inform potential settlers of the features, quality, and value of lands. A social hour will follow Kramer's presentation.
MetroParks Police are partnering with the Safety Council of Southwest Ohio to equip children with the knowledge and skills needed for safe bike riding. Topics covered will be proper bike adjustment, rules to follow while riding, what to wear, the importance of wearing a properly fitted helmet, and more. Then ride the course to learn balance and control, coordination, and maneuverability. Put it all together with a ride on the path!
Get your feet in the water and see what critters you can find! Butler Soil & Water Conservation District and MetroParks educators will provide their expertise and everything you need for creeking. Closed-toed shoes are recommended.

From the fossil-filled creeks to the tops of the towering trees and constellations beyond, get an inside view of what makes the history and nature of your MetroParks so unique. Every ID70 program in 2025 spotlights seven interesting subjects in each category; attend all ten to add 70 new pieces of park and nature knowledge to your collection.
Whether you're a new backyard birder or an avid avian enthusiast, hit the trail with MetroParks' outdoor educators to learn to identify 7 of our favorite birds who call MetroParks home. Waterproof shoes and insect repellant recommended.
