Nature in a Blink: Magic in the Maples

Experience Nature in a Blink, a year-long series in which MetroParks offers opportunities throughout the year to appreciate fleeting natural occurrences.

Explore your MetroPark after dark with a night hike to reveal the magic maple trees use to create their liquid treasure. Follow the journey of maple syrup from tap to table and discover mysteries usually hidden in the daylight. Warm up by the fire while sampling maple-inspired recipes and making your own maple memories.

Coyotes have been in the area for several decades, but you may notice them more as their wild habitat decreases. Since this is the peak of their mating season, we can anticipate more sightings. Join us to discuss how they got here, their role, common behaviors, and how to avoid negative interactions.

Make and Take Biscuits Making

Have you ever wondered how to make tender buttermilk biscuits from scratch? While it may seem like a messy, time-consuming process, making delicious Southern-style biscuits is quick, easy and economical! In this hands-on program, led by Carmon Hacker, she will teach you, step by step, how to make her "Blue Ribbon Biscuits", which won First Place at the Butler County Fair. You will make your own batch to take them home to bake!
All participants should bring a cookie sheet (about 10.5" by 16.5"), and a biscuit cutter (about 2.5" in diameter) if possible.
